Every year the World Pool-Billiard Associaton sanctions a tournament to bring together the best players from around the world. This year the Billiard Congress of America hosted the tournament and held the WPA World 9-Ball Championships in a suburb of Chicago, Illionis, October 1 - 5. Billiards Digest was on-site covering the tournament as it happened. Putting the results on the web (Often before they were posted on the chart outside the tournament room.), hosting on-line live chat sessions with players from the tournament like Jeanette Lee, and Efren Reyes, and posting daily reports from the tournament made it possible for enthusiasts from around the world to enjoy the tournament first hand.
