| NO REPEAT IN CARDIFF; CHAO ELIMINATED by Mike Mazek Jul 18, 2001, 6:57 PM EST Little-known Brit Anthony Ginn capped off a day of upsets at the 2001 Admiral World Pool Championship on Wednesday, knocking out 2000 champion Fong-Pang Chao, 9-8, to advance to the Round of 32 on Thursday. The Taiwanese champion, who scored the $50,000 winner-take-all International Challenge of Champions less than a week earlier, joined 2000 runner-up Ismael Paez on his way out of the tournament. Paez suffered a 9-7 defeat at the hands of World Junior Champion Dmitri Jungo, who holds a perfect 8-0 record during the tournament. Billiard Congress of America 9-ball champion Cory Deuel was eliminated earlier in the day.
