Just eight players remain undefeated going into today's BCA Pro 9-Ball Championship matches, and among them are a few unseeded surprises.

In the women's division, top seed Karen Corr is joined by No. 2 Allison Fisher, No. 6 Vivian Villarreal and unseeded middle-of-the packer Melissa Herndon, who knocked off Robin Dodson, 9-3, to assure herself of a career-high 5th/6th place finish. The 2001 BCA champ Jeanette Lee will have to work her way through a still-competitive one-loss bracket to defend her title after falling to Villarreal, 9-8.

On the men's side, No. 1 Corey Deuel and No. 11 Charlie Williams, along with unseeded Tony Robles and Jimmy Reid make up the undefeated final four. But still alive are such contenders as Ralf Souquet, Francisco Bustamante, Mika Immonen and 2001 top-three finishers Kim Davenport and Jose Parica.

Play continues through Saturday in Las Vegas.
