Bruce Christopher: Self-Appointed Legend

As a contestant on TV's "To Tell the Truth," Christopher hardly fooled the panel.
During the late 1970s, Superstroke lived in Manhattan, where he said he would host regular pocket-billiards parties for jetsetters and celebrities. Christopher also did some modeling - he appeared nude in Viva magazine in 1974 - but then he lost his appetite for the fast life in New York and so resettled in Arizona.

From there, he briefly hosted a talk show on Christian TV and made appearances on "The 700 Club." He still speaks a lot about his faith (he's said he attended Canada's Eastern Theological Seminary in the 1960s) and through the years has mixed pool with religion. Christopher said he has focused his promotional activities in recent years on pool exhibitions at church functions. He also said he's appeared on TV in the last decade or so, but I find no evidence of it.

"What I've been doing for the last nine or 10 years? I've been doing demonstrations in churches," said Superstroke. "They bring in the pool table and they use it as an outreach tool. I put on an exhibition. And the mothers and the fathers and the people hand out thousands of flyers that I'll be there to talk about how [pool] is a family sport, not a hustler sport, but for the family."
