OzoneBilliards.com Amateur Events Set for July 30-Aug 3

In conjunction with Dragon Promotions, the U.S. Amateur Open by OzoneBilliards.com will kick off July 30 at Bankshot Billiards in Jacksonville, Fla.

Seven major events — including open and women's 9-ball and 8-ball divisions — will be held alongside the Lucasi Hybrid Classic Invitational Championship, featuring top pros like Johnny Archer, Francisco Bustamante and Efren Reyes.

The open tournaments will be open to all "true amateurs" — meaning no pros, semi-pros or top-rated amateur players.

Players restricted from competing include those rated in the top 50 of the UPA for men and top 20 of the WPBA for women; finalists in the men's BCA National Masters or Singles and APA National Amateur Championships; and any finisher in the top 16 in any male pro tournament sanctioned by the current governing body of pro pool at that time (including the three divisions at the Derby City Classic).

The deadline for early entry is July 15, though players will be allowed to enter up to the date of the event if open slots are available.

All of the amateur events will be held on 8-foot Olhausen tables with Simonis cloth and Aramith balls.
