Canadian 9-Ball Tour Announces Tour Dates

The Canadian 9-Ball Tour boasts an expanded schedule with more added money for 2007-08.

Weeks after announcing sponsorship deals with two corporations outside of the billiards industry, the Canadian 9-Ball Tour has announced eight confirmed dates for the 2007-2008 season.

The debut of Chapters Indigo Bookstores and Cineplex Entertainment as sponsors will take place Oct. 5-7 at Bigwigs Billiards in Newmarket, Ontario.

Attracting corporate sponsorship outside of the billiard and home recreation industries represents a major coup for the Canadian 9-Ball Tour, which is about to enter its third year in operation.

Along with the increased support from these businesses, the tour has also expanded the number of events from six in 2006-2007 to eight for the upcoming season. Also, added money will double, reaching $10,000 for each tour stop.

Additionally, international players will be allowed to compete, meaning American professionals could journey northward for a chance at the substantial prize money.

Chapters Indigo is Canada's largest retail chain of bookstores. Cineplex Entertainment is the largest motion picture exhibitor in Canada, boasting 132 theaters across the nation.
