Budget: $6,500 & Up

If you have a budget higher than $6,500, congratulations! We assume you're probably either a bar owner or a funeral director and the economy woes aren't hitting you. You have plenty of purchasing power with that kind of cash, so feel free to go whole hog.

TABLE: The 50 percent rule is still in effect, since the table is still the centerpiece of your gameroom. You can even choose a highly decorative table to match your bar and pub tables if you want. Go for the best accessory package, too while you're at it.

ESSENTIALS: Again with the lighting, seating and cue racks, the more ornate, higher quality pieces will cost more. Your decor will basically decide for you which of each of those items you'll choose.

ADD-ONS: We're assuming you have a large area for your gameroom and as such, will go for the traditional Air Hockey, Foosball, dartboard combo, as well as a poker table. But since you're flush, consider adding some luxuries like a pinball machine or a slot machine. "Most people don't buy pinball machines new," says Graven, "because they cost too much, around $4,000-$6,000. But plenty of people will go for an old one in the $800 range. Rebuilt slot machines are a big item at $1,500-2,000, but they're popular. People put them at the end of their bars."

Shuffleboard is another great rec room game, but it takes up quite a lot of space (9-feet long is the smallest of the models), but they're very popular in some parts of the country. Look to spend anywhere between $700-$3,000 depending on size and craftsmanship.
