GB9 Tour Ready to Kick Off Second Stop
Mar 24, 2008, 10:07 AM

On March 28, the best players in Britain will join a handful of European stars at the second stop of the new GB9 Tour. The newest professional tour in Great Britain, the GB9 will host three events at Croydon, U.K., with a total purse just under $22,000.

In total, 128 players will be in action at this event, dubbed "GB 9 Southern Masters." The first two events split the field between a 32-player professional tournament and 96-player challenge division. Then, the entire field squares off in the open division.

At the GB9's debut in February, Imran Majid dominated both the professional and open divisions, winning both events en route to a $4,400 payday.

This time around, Tony Drago, Mosconi Cup MVP, will be making his first appearance on the fledgling tour. Reigning World Pool Champion Daryl Peach and Mark Gray, top-ranked player on the EuroTour, are also scheduled to appear.
