Fox Sports Starts Airing Mosconi Cup on Sunday
Jan 25, 2006, 9:32 AM

American audiences will have a chance to watch Team USA’s 11-7 conquest of Team Europe in the 2005 Mosconi Cup when the Fox Sports network begins a five-week airing of Cup highlights this Sunday, Jan. 29.

Shown over five consecutive Sundays, Fox’s coverage will consist of five one-hour programs, with multiple repeats for each show, according to Mosconi Cup promoter Matchroom Sport.

The 2005 Mosconi Cup took place at the MGM Grand Las Vegas in December and featured two six-man teams representing the USA and Europe doing battle over four days in a series of singles and doubles matches.

Commented Matchroom Sport Chairman Barry Hearn, "This is great news for American sports fans. I’m delighted that Fox are giving the Mosconi Cup a regular Sunday afternoon slot and I’m sure that we will generate a big audience for what is one of world pool’s blue-ribbon events."
