Corr Suffers Upset as WPBA Players Fight to Reach Final 16
Mar 23, 2007, 10:46 AM

Day two of the Women's Professional Billiard Association's Great Lakes Classic is underway in Michigan City, Ind., and fans are sure to see some pressure-packed matches as players fight to advance to the top 16.

"Irish Invader" Karen Corr suffered defeat from Tapei-born Hsin Huang, 9-6, in round two. Huang has been shy of the radar since being named 2004 WPBA Rookie of the Year, but is playing strong in the second event of 2007. Another suprise was Gerda Hofstatter's loss to young Liz Ford, 9-4.

Big match-ups will take place today, March 23, on the winner's side, including Carolina Classic winner Ga-Young Kim vs. Jeanette Lee, a U.K. civil war between Kelly "Kwikfire" Fisher vs. Sarah Ellerby, and the daunting "Duchess of Doom" Allison Fisher vs. Melissa Herndon.

Stay tuned to see who survives to the next round!
