Hovey Resigns as Olhausen President While at Helm of BCA
Mar 23, 2007, 3:27 PM

The current president of the Billiard Congress of America, Gregg Hovey, has announced his resignation as President of Olhausen Billiard Manufacturing, Inc. to pursue other business interests.

A press release submitted by Olhausen cited Hovey's role as supervisor of the company's move from southern California to Tennessee, while his wife, Leslie, remained in San Diego to continue with her law practice, as a great sacrifice for the president of six years.

"Gregg has earned some time off and a break from the long days and nights he endured in moving a facility as large as ours across the country to our new home," it read.

Until a new president is found, Donny Olhausen will be overseeing daily administrative and production operations. Hovey reportedly agreed to remain available as a consultant to Olhausen for a period of time to assist in the transition.

As for Hovey's role as BCA President, BCA CEO Rob Johnson said that "the board will take the appropriate actions according to the BCA bylaws." Johnson did note that BCA bylaws require that all advisory board members be a part of the billiard industry.
