Oct 24, 2007, 12:04 PM

Chesapeake, Va. — Player Dan Louie, who had emergency surgery after collapsing during a match at the U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship, is out of intensive care and recovering from internal bleeding.

“He is feeling much better and is under his own power on all cylinders,” said friend Jeff Jimenez, who accompanied Louie to the U.S. Open last week.

Louie, 55, collapsed during a match on Oct. 18 at the Open. He was rushed to Chesapeake General Hospital, where doctors performed surgery. He had suffered internal bleeding.

It wasn't immediately clear when Louie would be allowed to return home to the Seattle area.
