WPBA Tracking Player Stats in '08
Apr 22, 2008, 11:04 AM

The Women's Professional Billiard Association announced on Sunday that players will begin keeping their own statistics in the 2008 Classic Tour season.

The WPBA first toyed with the idea of tracking statistics at the 2007 Tour Championship. This year, players will track such numbers as lags won, balls made on the break, and games won with the break.

Kristi Carter, the WPBA Board member responsible for collecting the information, hopes stats will help quantify a player's performance.

"As players and fans, you will have the opportunity to track individual players' performances, see how they pair against other players, and where they stand overall under various categories," Carter said.

Statistics from the TV matches from the San Diego Classic are now available at the WPBA's Web site at www.wpba.com.
