APA Ends Sponsorship of Fisher

Fisher had been APA-sponsored since 2003.

In a desire to attract new pool players to the table, the American Poolplayers Association has ended its sponsorship agreement with Allison Fisher. The American Poolplayers Association terminated the sponsorship agreement between the WPBA's top-ranked player and the amateur league system in January.

“In no way is the end of our relationship with Allison a reflection on her as an ambassador for the APA Leagues," said the APA's Jason Bowman. "She was an outstanding representative for our organization, and we look forward to continuing to work with her under different terms in the future."

The APA will focus marketing efforts outside the industry, in hopes of attracting new potential league members to the pool table. Fisher, meanwhile, will appear at the APA National Team Championships in August.

"I have enjoyed a long, mutually beneficial relationship with the APA and respect their decision to explore new territory," Fisher said.
