Stransky Moves Up at Brunswick — And Into Bowling
Feb 7, 2005, 3:43 PM

According to a Brunswick Corporation news release, dated today (Feb. 7), Brunswick Billiards President John Stransky, who is also president of the Billiard Congress of America, has been promoted within Brunswick to the role of president — Brunswick Bowling & Billiards.

Stransky, 53, has led the billiards division at Brunswick since 1998. In his new position overseeing two divisions, Stransky will report directly to Brunswick chairman and CEO George W. Buckley. Stransky replaces Peter B. Hamilton, who is moving to the presidency of Brunswick’s Life Fitness division.

Stransky was unavailable to comment on the move, but BCA board elections will be held at the Expo in April, and it remains to be seen if he will run for reelection now that he has expanded his scope to include bowling. Stransky’s new position is effective immediately, but no replacement to head up billiards has yet been named, nor has a date been set for that succession.

The Brunswick Corporation, headquartered in Lake Forest, Ill., has marine, fitness, billiards, and bowling divisions. Begun 160 years ago, billiards is the oldest division at Brunswick.
