U.S. Open Start Date Changed

The official start for the U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship has been changed slightly. For the first time in tournament history, the event will begin on a Sunday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. EST and end on a Saturday night, Oct. 20.

"After careful consideration, we believe that everyone associated with the event will benefit from a Saturday evening conclusion, allowing them to travel home on Sunday," said Barry Behrman, founder and promoter. "We also believe this will have a very positive impact on the TV production and broadcast distribution."

Subsequently, the player's meeting will be held on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 4 p.m EST. VIP festivities are also being planned for Sunday afternoon prior to the players meeting.
