Closing Ceremonies: Qlympics wrap up over the weekend
Nov 16, 2007, 11:07 AM

The Qlympics — the BCA Pool League's Big Table Championships — will finish up its debut run this weekend with a hectic schedule of amateur events. Kicking off Nov. 1 at the Clarion Hotel in Louisville, Ky., the Qlympics is a mix of professional open events and BCAPL-only tournaments, all played on full-length 9-foot Diamond tables.

The 14.1 Straight Pool Championship and 10-Ball Championship, two of the biggest added-money events, are scheduled to finish this evening. Not requiring BCAPL membership in order to compete, these open events feature plenty of recognizable names, like Shannon Daulton, Gabe Owen and Louis Ulrich.

This weekend, however, will be for the amateurs. Junior 8- and 9-ball and both singles and team 8-ball events will all get going this weekend, closing out almost three weeks of continuous action.
