Trudeau may face criminal charges after asking fans to e-mail a federal judge.
According to a report on the Web site of the Chicago Tribune, infomercial star and best-selling author Kevin Trudeau has been ordered to appear in federal court in Chicago.

U.S. District Judge Robert Gettleman has demanded Trudeau appear to answer why he asked thousands of customers to e-mail the court in support of Trudeau. The e-mails clogged Gettleman's account, which could represent an investigation into whether the action represented a threat to the judge.

According to the Tribune, Gettleman said he was sure Trudeau was attempting to "harass the court and interfere with my processes."

But for the founder of the International Pool Tour, legal problems are nothing new. He has frequently run afoul of the Federal Trade Commission. Most recently, in August 2008, Trudeau was found guilty of contempt, relating to an order from the FTC that Trudeau not appear in infomercials in which he had an interest. Trudeau was also slapped with a $5 million fine. Gettleman was the judge in that case.
