A Ball A Stroke


Many games (14.1 and 8-ball especially) often involve a crowded table, with the occasional opportunity for a combo. This drill helps you plan ahead with shots that require using more than one object ball.

Set up two balls in each pocket with an inch or so between each pair. Rack the remaining three on the foot spot. After breaking open the cluster, try to pocket one ball with every stroke. It might get messy, but you’ll learn to work your way through traffic. [Larry Schwartz]
