Deadly Ground
When the object ball is on a semicircle like ones in the diagram, a scratch is highly likely (regardless of which pocket) when you use stun because the cue ball will travel at a right angle to the object ball.

Imagine a semicircle with its feet in the pockets. Set up a number of shots like these two. Instead of avoiding the scratch, try to sink the cue ball. You’ll better understand how to avoid it come game time. [Bob Jewett]
