Drills

Ride the Rails
This drill forces you to address shots along the rail, while also challenging you to plan your runout in advance. Using five solids and the 8 ball, place one object ball at the center of each rail, one ball-width from the cushion. Beginning with ball in hand, play the table as a game of 8-ball, pocketing the five solids in any order before taking aim at the 8. Pay extra attention to your route, since some balls may only go in one pocket. Once you can run this layout on a regular basis, move the balls closer to the rails. [Courtesy Larry Schwartz]
