Rail to Rail
This drill forces you to work on shot-making and speed control by sending the cue ball three rails from one end of the table to the other.

With the 1 ball as shown, take ball in hand. Pocket it, and try to freeze the cue ball against the head rail. Once you can consistently come with a ball or diamond of the rail, move to the 2 ball, then the 3. [Larry Schwartz]
