VIDEO: Pool Fundamentals

March: Share the Word
March 2011
Q. I am a Christian with a good spiritual foundation. My question is about Christian pool players in bars. How can I be settled in this area? How can I be at peace with playing the game and putting myself in these environments
Angie S.; Pumpkintown S.C.

A. I don't believe Jesus ever shied away from hanging with sinners (check out Matthew 9:9-13). To be a Christian doesn't mean you have to stay away from bars. In fact, what better place for you to be a witness or give testimony? I have been the national spokesperson for the APA these last couple years and have spent a lot more time in bars. They are great places to meet people and have fun playing pool. Just use the experience as an opportunity for others to see what a "good Christian" is all about. Make yourself available to others who might have questions. If anything, make friends and invite them to join you at church. God wants us to be fishers of men, which means more than hiding only in church-like environments! I hope you find peace, and, better yet, the excitement to go play pool in whatever environment you get thrown into! God bless.
