July: Who Do You Admire
July 2016

Q: Can you please name three players whose games you most admire? And what unique attributes did each possess that left such an impression on you?

Dennis St. James, San Jose, Calif.

A: There are many players that immediately come to mind, but Iíve always been most impressed with Efren Reyes, Ray Martin and Allison Fisher. Efren is the only player I know of that makes the championsí jaws drop. Iíve found him to be knowledgable, creative, kind and humble. HIs game is remarkable. Ray Martin is someone who was not only a champion, but is known for helping people. His book, ď99 Critical Shots,Ē is one of the best pool books of all time in terms of providing amateur players with a path to the top of their game. Allison Fisher has been my greatest nemesis, but someone that Iíve seen stand up to the pressure with a great attitude and sportsmanship. She is consistent and a great competitor.
