Q: How can my competitive boyfriend and I play each other without the tension?
Megan; Omaha, Neb.

A: Sometimes there are deeper issues: Maybe you earn more or are better at some activities. Until you find the root of the problem, I wouldn’t suggest competing against each other. APA leagues are a great way to be competitive and be on the same team. Share things that aren’t competitive, like movies, exercise, food. And sometimes you have to agree to disagree. If you can’t even play pool together, find out what’s going on and resolve it. It’ll help you both be on the same page when making future decisions.
